Sony Classical released this recording of orchestral works by Louise Farrenc on 5 September 2025. Recorded by Mastertrack with the Prague Metropolitan Orchestra in Prague, the album brings together Farrenc's two concert overtures alongside two piano works newly orchestrated by Christopher Hussey.

The recording forms part of a growing international rediscovery of Farrenc's music. A distinguished composer, pianist and Professor at the Paris Conservatoire, Farrenc was one of the most accomplished musical figures of the nineteenth century. Her symphonies, chamber music and piano works have increasingly been recognised as significant contributions to the Romantic repertoire, while her successful campaign for equal pay at the Conservatoire remains an important milestone in the history of women in music.

Ahead of the album's release, two tracks were issued as digital singles. The first, Mélodie in A♭ Major, was released to coincide with International Women's Day 2025, celebrating Farrenc's legacy and the continuing recognition of women composers. The recording was subsequently featured in Spotify's editorial Women of Classical playlist and received editorial support across major streaming platforms.

Since its release, the recording has attracted an international audience through streaming services, editorial playlists and classical radio broadcasts. The album has accumulated more than 75,000 streams worldwide, with performances broadcast by leading classical stations including BBC Radio 3, ABC Classic (Australia), Sveriges Radio, Catalunya Música and Accent 4, among others.
