Czech Centre Recognition for orchestral recordings in Czechia

15 December 2023

2023 has been an incredible musical year with four commercial recording sessions – three of which was in Czechia with the Czech Philharmonic and Janáček Philharmonic orchestras. I am ecstatic to announce that the Czech Centre in London has recognised this work and will help us to promote the work we are doing.

The Czech Centre is part of the Czech Embassy and exists to promote Czechia by showcasing Czech culture, innovations and creativity in the UK.

Earlier in the summer, I announced a recording partnership with the Janacek Philharmonic. We had undertaken our first recording session and in meeting with the management, they felt happy to extend their welcome into a long-term recording partnership. Along with friends and colleagues Christopher Hussey and Jonas Persson, we have since formed a recording company, MASTERTRACK.

On 8 February 2024, the album Chromosphere will be launched at the Czech Centre. The evening will comprise a live performance from a selection of works from Chromosphere as works recorded with the Janacek Philharmonic. 2024 marks the 200th anniversary of Bedřich Smetana’s birth and as part of the Czech Centre’s 2024 Year of Music, Smetana will be performed and championed.

I would like to sincerely thank all those who have supported us in the past twelve months, whether it be supporting the Czech Philharmonic Woodwind Orchestra Recording funding campaign, offering to be a private donor or simply offering me encouraging words. There is much to celebrate and much to look forward to in the coming year.
